- Wash and rinse.Chana dal put it in pressure cooker. Add water, turmeric and salt pressure cook for 5 minutes after first whistle. Let pressure releases automatically.
- Wash and clean spinach. Dry it on kitchen towel. Chop nicely.
- Add chopped spinach in dal cooker. Mix. Adjust the consistency of water by adding a little water and plce the lid and pressure cook again till 4-6 whistles.
- Chop onion, ginger chilli and garlic. Grate tomato and make a puree.
- Heat ghee in a wok. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter put grated garlic and saute for 1 minute.
- Add ginger and saute for 1 minute. Add onion and saute till it turn pinkish.
- Add tomato puree and green chilli. Sauté till oil leaves the sides. Add red chilli powder, turmeric coriander seeds powder and garam masala and mix. Add dal and spinach mixture.
- Mix it and let it simmer on low flame for 7-8 minutes till tadka mix well with dal. Switch off the flame.
- Serve hot with chapatti or rice.
