  6. 1 onion
  7. 2 tomatoes
  8. 6-8 garlic cloves
  9. 1 inch ginger
  10. 2 tbsp cooking oil
  11. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  12. to taste salt
  13. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  14. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  15. 1/4 tsp coriander seeds powder
  16. 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  17. 1/4 tsp garam masala
  18. 1/2 tsp rajma masala

Instructions to make to make Punjabi Kidney Beans Curry

  1. Wash and Soak kidney beans in 2 bowls of water for 4 hours. After 4 hours put it in pressure cooker. Add remaining 3 bowls of water and salt. Place the lid and cook for 5 minutes after first whistle. Switch off the flame and let pressure releases automatically. Open the lid and adjust the consistency of water.
  2. Peel wash and Chop onion, ginger, garlic and tomatoes. Grind it in a mixer to a smooth paste.
  3. Heat cooking oil in a wok. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter put grinded paste and saute till oil leaves the karahi.
  4. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander seeds powder and mix well. Saute for 30 seconds.
  5. Transfer this fried masala in kidney beans cooker and place the lid and cook for 7 minutes after first whistle on medium flame.
  6. Switch off the flame and let pressure releases automatically. Add chopped coriander leaves, garam masala and MDH rajma masala.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves with rice or chapatti.
